Why Should You Focus on Positive Self Talk?

And what does positive self talk have to do with raising children to be rich?

Well, since your little one will be picking up your own thoughts from the moment he or she begins growing within you, now is the time to start noticing what you are thinking--and saying!

Do these thoughts sound familiar?

• Money doesn’t grow on trees
  
  
• One has to work hard in order to make any money
  
  
• One has to sell his/her soul to the company in order to get ahead and make money
  
  
• A rich person isn’t likely to be a happy person
  
  
• A rich person only thinks about money all day
  
  
• It is more spiritual to be poor than to be rich
  
  
• I am honest, so I’ll never be rich
  
  
• I just don’t have the ability to be rich myself

Believe it or not, this is negative self talk.

Do you have heard anything like this being said to you? Do you say any of this to yourself? Then, it is time to start noticing what you are hearing or thinking in your mind.

Start paying attention to what you are saying to yourself. At first it can be a bit hard, but that doesn’t last long at all. Listen to your own self-talk. When you hear yourself saying something similar to the statements above, STOP!

Here’s how you correct any negative self-talk: immediately after saying such a statement to yourself, recreate the statement and say - with feeling - the following:

• Money is everywhere!
  
  
• One can have fun making money with no hard work at all!
  
  
• One can be rich and stay true to his or her principles.
  
  
• Rich people are happy at least as often as are other people.
  
  
• Rich people don’t have to think about money as often as poor people.
  
  
• It is more spiritual to be rich because more good can be given to others as well as to oneself.
  
  
• Rich people are just as honest as any other people. Rich people who are honest generally keep their riches forever.
  
  
• All kinds of people are rich, from the very intelligent to the not so smart or skilled, just like the people who are poor. I deserve to be rich, too!
  
  
• I am attracting money every moment until the time that I have all the riches I desire!

There can be times that you have a hard time using this positive self talk because you may be in a difficult time.

Say it anyway and do the best you can to feel what you are saying. The more you say it and feel it, the easier it will be because you will actually be recognizing the truth of what you are saying. After all, once you are aware, many examples of what you are saying will suddenly be apparent to you, when you were not even looking for them before.
