How Do Your Own Self Image Issues Affect Your Child?

Self Image Issues

Do you have self image issues? And what is self image? Read on, it's all here.

Believe it or not, our own self-image is formed primarily before wee reach the age of three.

Certainly, your experiences since that age have massaged that image to make it stronger or weaker. But the base was formed during those early years. That is why it is so extremely important that you recognize that your effect on your little one will be very long lasting and based on what you teach him/her during those first few years.

It will be very close related to your own self image issues.

If you don't have a millionaire self-image right now, then it will be harder to develop that self-image in your child. So you need to work on your own self-image before the baby is born and continue to develop it throughout your life, just as you want to teach your child to do.

But what is self image? How do you decide if you have self-image issues? Well, your external circumstances are a reflection of what you believe yourself to be.

Do you:

  • work in a field in which you are happy
  • have no money concerns
  • have no relationship concerns
  • have no health concerns
  • live in a beautiful home
  • live in a clean, neat home
  • drive a clean, pretty car
  • take good care of your body
  • look nice whenever you prepare for the day

If the above describes your life, then you probably don’t have self image issues. If that is not your external circumstances yet, but you feel very confident that you are on the road to experiencing such a life very soon, then, again, it is very likely that your self-image is very good.

However, if:

  • you feel you constantly have to struggle to get what you want
  • your appearance is not always the best
  • you don't take care of your body
  • your home is in a shambles
  • you have personal problems
  • you have financial problems
  • you have health problems

then it is very likely that your self-image needs a bit of work.

After all, do you want your child to have the life that you have right now? Your child will be copying you, so you need to develop your own self-love in order to teach your child to love him or herself, too!

Chances are you have had self image issues for a very long time - likely since you were a toddler. So, you will have to work hard to change that image before your baby is born. It is actually fun to do, but you must be consistent in doing repeatedly the things you need to do to change your image. It starts with work on the inside of you which is then reflected in your external circumstances.

When you begin to see yourself as a special child of God/Universe/whatever, for whom the whole universe is available, it will be much easier to teach your child that same feeling.

You don't know yet, but the love you have for your child will be a love which never dies, no matter what your child may do.

You are loved in exactly the same way, if not by your own parents, then definitely by the Universe which created you. Humans may have frailties with their love, but God/the Universe/whatever - does not. You were created for a special reason. One of those reasons was to have this precious child to raise. If you want the very best for your child, don't you know that the Universe wants the very best for YOU as well?

Your ability of raising your children to be rich relates closely to your positive self-talk and to your self image issues, as well as knowing the right answer to the question: what is responsibility?
